HOW DO MOBILE PAYMENTS WORK?
Mobile payments use a technology called near field communication (NFC) to enable your mobile phone for contactless payment. A tiny chip and antenna on your phone transmit your payment information quickly and securely. And with MasterCard Zero Liability protection included with every purchase, using your phone to pay at checkout is as safe as swiping.

MOBILE MASTERCARD PAYPASS TAGS
Mobile MasterCard® PayPass™ Tags put the convenience of NFC technology into a tiny sticker that attaches to the back of any mobile phone.
Mobile MasterCard PayPass™ Tags are easy to activate, and they provide the same protection that comes with other PayPass cards or devices. Each tag is fully enabled for fast, secure, contactless payments at any merchant outlet that uses PayPass terminals.
NFC-ENABLED MOBILE DEVICES
NFC technology is being built into the operating systems of some mobile devices, with more on the way. State-of-the art encryption technology and a secure, PIN-protected app make using your smartphone as safe as swiping.
In the near future NFC-enabled smartphones will give you exclusive access to deals that help you save at local or online businesses. Initially, the cashier can either manually deduct the discount from your order, or you can receive a reimbursement on your monthly bill at the end of the month. In the future, discounts will automatically be applied when you tap your phone on the PayPass reader.
